This full-day journey into the heart of Cyprus reveals a more authentic side of the island. Away from the coastal resorts, you will discover traditional villages, mountain landscapes and places rarely visited by mass tourism. It is a well-balanced combination of adventure, nature and local culture, all within one varied route.
You will travel by 4x4 off-road vehicle, allowing access to areas beyond the reach of standard coaches. The route follows both asphalt roads and well-maintained dirt tracks. The scenery changes constantly - from rolling hills to green valleys. There will be a stop at Dipotamos Dam, where you can admire this impressive structure set harmoniously within the natural surroundings.
The next highlight is the village of Lefkara, world-famous for its handmade lace and fine silverware. According to local tradition, even Leonardo da Vinci admired the craftsmanship created here. As you stroll through narrow stone-paved streets, you will experience the calm rhythm of rural Cypriot life. A welcome drink will be offered, giving you a moment to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.
The tour continues through the forest of Mesa Potamos, following the course of a mountain river. A short walk through the trees leads to a hidden waterfall cascading down a rocky cliff. The cool, crystal-clear water and lush vegetation create a refreshing natural setting - ideal for photographs and a peaceful break surrounded by nature.
You will also visit Omodos, one of the most important wine-producing villages in the Limassol region. A walk along its cobbled streets allows time to explore small local shops, enjoy a traditional Cypriot coffee in a village kafenio, or visit the Monastery of the Holy Cross. The monastery dates back to the 4th century and is traditionally associated with Saint Helena.
During the day, a local lunch in a mountain taverna is included. You will taste freshly prepared Cypriot dishes, including vegetarian options. Wine, water and lemonade are served with the meal. It is an opportunity to relax and enjoy regional flavours in a peaceful setting.
This experience is ideal for those who wish to see more than just the coastline and gain a deeper understanding of the island’s landscapes, traditions and everyday life.
