Program Description

Get ready for a day full of history and ancient mysteries! Early in the morning, after hotel pickup, you’ll head to Luxor, the former capital of the Egyptian pharaohs, once known as Thebes. It’s one of the most important archaeological sites in the world, where almost every stone tells a story.

You’ll start by visiting the Valley of the Kings, where rulers of the New Kingdom (ca. 1550–1070 BC) were laid to rest. You’ll walk through tomb interiors decorated with paintings meant to guide the pharaohs’ souls to the afterlife. For an additional fee, you can also enter the most famous tomb of Tutankhamun.

Next, you’ll visit the monumental Temple of Hatshepsut, the first female pharaoh. Carved into the rock in the 15th century BC, her temple is a masterpiece of ancient craftsmanship. Interestingly, the research and reconstruction of Hatshepsut’s temple is primarily thanks to Polish archaeologists.

The next stop is the Colossi of Memnon, stone giants that have guarded the Nile for over 3,000 years. Due to damage, one of them used to “sing” at sunrise - a phenomenon even described by Roman Emperor Hadrian. You can also participate in a short Nile cruise (at an additional charge), offering a completely different perspective on Egypt.

After a short break and lunch at a local restaurant, you’ll head to Karnak - a vast temple complex. There, you’ll see the massive hypostyle hall, with over 130 columns reaching up to 24 meters high, along with numerous inscriptions that depict triumphs, ceremonies, and festivals.

To end the tour, you’ll visit a papyrus gallery, where you’ll learn how ancient Egyptians created the first “books” and have the chance to buy souvenirs.
