Program Description

Take a glimpse into how various Mumbaikers really live and partake in their traditional customs. Visit a Gujarati home where three generations live all under one roof and stroll in the charming little village of Khotachiwadi, tucked away in the busy landscape of Mumbai among the markets, incessant traffic, people on the move and skyscrapers. This area is marked by narrow lanes, houses with sloping roofs, some more than 100 years old, wooden facades in strident colours, balconies and latticed windows reminiscent of a forgotten pocket of the Portuguese. This 19th century settlement actually belongs to the coastal community of Christians from Maharashtra and Goa who have preserved their heritage, homes and their culture.
