Program Description

Pick-up from the hotels and transfer to Nikiszowiec, where history is closely intertwined with tradition. The workers' settlement for the miners of the Giesche mine, built between 1908 and 1918, stands out with its architecture, comprising nine red brick buildings offering 1,000 apartments. Residents enjoyed leisure time in the extensive park and traditional inn, taking advantage of various amenities such as baths for miners and dedicated laundry facilities for housewives. Today, the former laundry serves as the headquarters of the City Ethnology Department of the Katowice History Museum, showcasing daily life in Upper Silesia from the 1930s to the 1960s. A stroll through Nikiszowiec is complemented by a visit to St. Anne's Church, a significant religious landmark of the region. Return to the hotels in Katowice.

Chosen excursion available subject to minimal number of 4 participants.
