A tour to learn about the history of the freedom struggle of South Africans. The tour begins with a pick-up from the hotels. The first item on the agenda is a visit to the Hector Pieterson Museum, named after the student who died during the tragic riots associated with the anti-apartheid protests. Drive past Mandela's home to the Regina Mundi Church, which was the site of many secret meetings of banned political parties during the apartheid era. Lunch at a local restaurant. Drive to the Apartheid Museum, where participants will travel back to the days of “whites only” privileges. The museum will feature documentary excerpts, texts, audio clips and live reports recreating life during the dark days of South Africa. The tour concludes with a return to the hotels.
