Excursion to Banská Štiavnica, one of the most beautiful places in Slovakia, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Located in an extinct volcano, it is one of the oldest and most famous mining towns in Europe. The tour begins with a visit to the Slovak Mining Museum. Here you will find most comprehensive mining exhibition in Slovakia, presenting the development of the mining industry in Central Europe from the Middle Ages to the end of the 20th century. Then you will visit the New Castle, where the exhibition of the Slovak Mining Museum shows the 17th century battles against the Turks on the territory of today's Slovakia. Later a walk to Lake Tajch with viewpoints over the city. Finally tasting of local wines and free time for lunch.
