Program Description

Sri Lanka’s hill country delights with rolling green hills, vast tea plantations and a slower pace of life. During this two-day excursion, You will discover the region’s most scenic landscapes and its best-known highlights. It is a combination of nature, colonial heritage and light adventure.

One of the most memorable experiences is the journey along the iconic Ella - Nanu-Oya railway route. The train winds through tea-covered hills, passes tunnels and stone viaducts, and reveals sweeping views of endless green terraces. It is considered one of the most picturesque railway journeys in the world and offers a unique perspective on Sri Lanka’s mountainous interior.

In colonial Nuwara Eliya, often referred to as “Little England”, You will sense the legacy of British rule. Elegant buildings, well-kept gardens and the cool mountain climate give the town its distinctive character. A visit to a Ceylon tea factory provides insight into the production process of one of the world’s most celebrated teas - from freshly picked leaves to the finished cup. This part of the day is complemented by a relaxing boat ride on Lake Gregory, surrounded by rolling hills.

In Ella, You will visit one of Sri Lanka’s most recognisable landmarks - the Nine Arch Bridge, a striking stone viaduct set amidst lush tropical greenery. Watching the train cross its arches is a memorable moment and a perfect photo opportunity. The programme also includes a stop at a scenic waterfall, where there is time to pause and appreciate the natural beauty of the area.

For those who enjoy gentle activity, there is a trek to Little Adam’s Peak. The trail is accessible for most participants, and the summit rewards You with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. This is also where the famous Instagram swing is located. For an added thrill, an optional zipline ride over the valley is available.

This two-day excursion offers a comprehensive introduction to Sri Lanka’s hill country - its landscapes, tea-growing traditions and most iconic attractions.
