Program Description

DAY 1: tour to El Djem with its beautifully preserved Roman amphitheatre, famous for its annual jazz concerts. Continue to Matmata with its surprising lunar landscape. The rocky houses are home to the descendants of the Berbers - a visit to one of them. Lunch in the restaurant. In the afternoon drive to Douz - "The Gate of the Sahara". Optional ride on camels or quads in the Sahara dunes. Accommodation in hotel 4****. Dinner.

DAY 2: breakfast. Drive through Tunisia's largest salt lake - Chott El Jerid - to the desert oasis Touzer. Then, a 4x4 jeep expedition to the Atlas mountain oasis- Chebika, where scenes for the films "The English Patient" were shot. The possibility of visiting the decorations from the set of the film "Star Wars". Lunch. On the way back to the north a short stop to the holy city of Tunisia - Kairouan with the largest mosque in northern Africa - Sidi Okba Grand Mosque. Free time for shopping. Return to hotels.
