Program Description
Niagara Falls in winter is a spectacular combination of natural beauty and colourful illuminations. During the day, the powerful cascades are an impressive sight, while after dark, the Falls transform into a dazzling display of lights and colours. On this tour from Toronto, you'll discover the winter charm of Niagara Falls, sample Canadian treats and experience the atmosphere of the Winter Festival of Lights.
You'll travel by coach from Toronto towards Niagara Falls. Your first stop will be Maple Leaf Place, where you'll discover the flavours of Canada during a tasting of local specialities. Sample maple syrup, artisan chocolate and fudge - a soft, rich confectionery treat. You'll also learn how maple sap is transformed into one of Canada's most iconic products.
Next, you'll arrive at the famous Horseshoe Falls, where you can admire the sheer power of the cascading water from scenic viewpoints. If you've selected the tour option that includes Journey Behind the Falls, you'll have the chance to experience the Falls up close. Descend approximately 38 metres through tunnels and stand right beside the powerful cascades, where you can hear the thunder of the rushing water. When Niagara City Cruises is operating, there may also be an opportunity to take a boat trip near the Falls.
Afterwards, you'll have free time to take photos, browse souvenir shops or enjoy a stroll along the Falls.
As evening approaches, watch the scenery around Niagara Falls gradually change. First, admire the sunset over Niagara Falls, followed by Falls Illumination, when colourful lights transform the cascading water into a spectacular display.
But the evening's attractions don't end there! Next comes the Winter Festival of Lights, with millions of twinkling lights illuminating the surrounding area. You'll travel along Niagara Parkway and through the picturesque Dufferin Islands, where glowing installations reflect on the water, creating a beautiful setting for winter photographs.
Your next stop will be Clifton Hill, one of the liveliest and most brightly lit areas of Niagara Falls. You'll have the opportunity to wander among colourful decorations, visit local cafés and sample hot chocolate along the Hot Chocolate Trail. On selected evenings, you may also witness a fireworks display above the illuminated Falls, providing a spectacular finale to your visit.
After an evening filled with memorable experiences, you'll return to Toronto by coach, taking home memories of Niagara Falls glowing with thousands of colourful lights.
The order of sightseeing and the itinerary are subject to change.
