Program Description

Discover two of Xi'an's most iconic landmarks on a private full-day tour that takes you through the fascinating history of China's first emperor and the rich cultural heritage of the Tang Dynasty. This unforgettable excursion offers a journey through more than two thousand years of Chinese history.

Your day begins with a drive to Lintong, home to one of the world's greatest archaeological discoveries – the Terracotta Army Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the three main excavation halls – Pit 1, Pit 2 and Pit 3 – where thousands of life-sized terracotta warriors, horses and chariots stand guard over the tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang, the founder of China's first unified dynasty. Created over 2,000 years ago, the army was built to protect the emperor in the afterlife and remains one of the country's most remarkable historical treasures.

During your visit, you will learn about the discovery of the site, the creation of the Terracotta Army and the legacy of the emperor who unified China.

After lunch at a local restaurant, return to Xi'an to visit the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, one of the finest surviving monuments from the Tang Dynasty. Built in the 8th century, this elegant Buddhist pagoda symbolises the spread of Buddhism in China and is admired for its graceful architecture and peaceful surroundings.

This excursion is an excellent choice for anyone interested in history, archaeology and Chinese culture, offering the opportunity to visit Xi'an's most important historical landmarks in a single day.

The order of visits and the programme may be subject to change.
