Program Description

What if you could escape to a tropical jungle, polar wilderness and African forest without leaving Madrid? Faunia is a nature park where you can discover the animal world in a completely different way. Across 16 hectares, you’ll find 4 different ecosystems and 15 themed areas, home to more than 1,200 animals representing 152 species.

In The Jungle, you’ll experience a taste of the tropics, meet manatees and colourful macaws, and even experience a simulated tropical storm. Then, head to the Polar Ecosystem, where more than 100 penguins from six species await - the largest group of its kind in Europe.

And that’s just the beginning. In the African Forest, you’ll encounter lemurs and exotic birds, while the Temperate Forest is home to animals including muntjac and demoiselle cranes. Each ecosystem offers a glimpse into a different natural environment and highlights the incredible diversity of the animal world.

There are also 15 themed areas where you can see animals in unusual surroundings. Walk through a moonlit nocturnal area, explore a karst cave inhabited by naked mole-rats, and visit an Australian meadow where Bennett’s wallabies roam. You’ll also see Nile crocodiles among mangroves, as well as snakes and jellyfish.

Faunia is not just about observing animals - it’s also an opportunity to learn more about them. Through educational activities and talks, you can discover more about marine mammals and birds of prey, while interactive experiences with sea lions, manatees and other animals allow you to get closer to the species you encounter.

Your visit also supports a wider purpose - Faunia is involved in the conservation of endangered species, working with the Parques Reunidos Foundation and EAZA. This gives you the chance not only to discover the diversity of the animal world, but also to learn why protecting it matters.

Faunia is a place where one visit can take you through several completely different corners of the world - from a tropical jungle to a polar world filled with penguins. Explore the ecosystems, meet their inhabitants and see where the next themed area takes you.
