The tour begins near Plaza de San Miguel, close to one of the city’s most famous gourmet markets. For years, this area has attracted both locals and travellers looking to taste some of the best Spanish specialities. In a small group, you will set off on a walk through the charming streets of the city centre. Along the way, you will reach Plaza Mayor - one of the most iconic squares in Madrid, which for centuries has been the heart of the city’s social life. The route then continues towards the Literary Quarter, a district closely connected with great figures of Spanish literature such as Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega.
Walking towards the Prado Museum, you will stop at several local eateries where you will taste classic Spanish dishes. During the tastings, you will discover flavours that have been part of Madrid’s culinary heritage for generations. Among the dishes served are croquetas, aromatic gambas al ajillo, Spanish cheeses, tortilla de patata, and stuffed mushrooms. Each dish is paired with a carefully selected Spanish wine or beer, enhancing the flavours and allowing you to experience the atmosphere of traditional tapas bars.
