Program Description

Join a journey through centuries of history that have shaped the identity of Andalusia. During this tour, you will discover two of the city’s most iconic landmarks - the Royal Alcázar of Seville and the magnificent Seville Cathedral with its famous La Giralda tower. It is a walk through dynasties, architectural styles and cultural influences, all in the heart of Seville.

Your visit begins at the Royal Alcázar of Seville - one of the most remarkable palaces in Spain and the oldest royal residence in Europe still in use today. Built for the Christian king Peter of Castile, it stands as an outstanding example of Mudéjar architecture - a unique blend of Christian and Islamic artistic traditions. As you explore its richly decorated halls, courtyards and arcades, you will admire intricate arches, colourful azulejos tiles and beautifully crafted ceilings. There will also be time to stroll through the royal gardens, filled with fountains, exotic plants and shaded pathways. This extraordinary setting was used as a filming location for Game of Thrones, adding a touch of cinematic magic to your visit. The complex was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1987.

Next, you will head to the imposing Seville Cathedral, recognised as the largest Gothic church in the world and one of the biggest cathedrals in Europe. Built on the site of a former mosque, the cathedral evolved over more than 900 years. Inside, you will see the monumental main nave, the richly decorated high altar and numerous chapels housing important artworks and historical treasures. It is also home to the site traditionally recognised as the tomb of Christopher Columbus.

Finally, you will ascend La Giralda - a former minaret transformed into a bell tower. From the top, you will enjoy panoramic views over Seville, offering a completely different perspective of the city. Touring with an official guide will help you better understand Seville’s complex history, its cultural influences and the importance of these monuments in Spanish heritage.

This is not just sightseeing - it is a fascinating history and architecture lesson in one unforgettable experience.
