Program Description
Visit the Santos Juanes Church (Sant Joan del Mercat), one of Valencia's most important religious landmarks, whose history dates back to the 13th century. Located in the heart of the city, next to the famous Central Market, this magnificent church impresses visitors with its monumental Baroque architecture and richly decorated interior.
Built on the site of a former mosque after the Christian conquest of Valencia, the church has been rebuilt several times throughout its history, mainly following devastating fires. Its current Baroque appearance dates from the late 17th century, while the interior features impressive frescoes, ornate altars and remarkable religious sculptures.
Your visit also includes a unique immersive Baroque experience, where state-of-the-art video mapping technology digitally recreates the magnificent frescoes painted by Antonio Palomino. Through a spectacular combination of light, projection and music, the church's lost artistic heritage is brought back to life, allowing visitors to experience its Baroque splendour in an entirely new way.
