Program Description
Away from the busy tourist resorts lies Chanthaburi - a picturesque province of Thailand known for its tropical landscapes, historic architecture and local traditions. On this full-day trip from Pattaya, you'll visit a waterfall surrounded by lush greenery, explore the charming streets of Chanthaburi and enjoy a boat trip through fascinating mangrove forests.
You'll set off early in the morning for Chanthaburi province, located approximately 170 km southeast of Pattaya. Your first stop will be Namtok Phlio National Park, where a short walk through tropical vegetation will lead you to the beautiful Phlio Waterfall. It's a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a refreshing swim in the clear water, surrounded by rocks and lush greenery.
Next, you'll head to Chanthaburi town to visit the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, considered the largest Catholic church in Thailand. Its distinctive architecture stands out against the traditional Thai buildings. During a walk through the historic town centre, you'll see wooden houses lining the banks of the Chanthaburi River. This area has preserved the atmosphere of an old trading town, where different cultures have influenced local life over the centuries. You'll also enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
The next part of your journey will take you to the fishing village of Ban Pak Nam Prasae in Rayong province. Here, you'll enjoy a boat trip through the mangrove forests, where tangled roots create a fascinating natural landscape. Afterwards, you'll have some free time to follow the walking trails through Thung Prong Thong, also known as the "Golden Fields". This remarkable mangrove area is famous for its foliage, which takes on beautiful golden shades in the sunlight.
To round off the trip, you'll visit Wat Rakhang Thong Temple, set in scenic surroundings. From here, you can admire views of the surrounding landscape - a lovely way to end a day exploring a quieter, less touristy side of Thailand.
In the late afternoon, you'll begin your return journey to Pattaya.
The order of visits and the itinerary are subject to change.
